Celebrate Vintage Style

Happy Wednesday!
Today we are half way through our week and heading for the weekend and also Mother's Day!  Our Texas weather decide to act right and give us some really warm sunny days...which I love!  I also love vintage images!

Today I have a card I made using a vintage image from Peggy Loves Vintage.  The sweet little bee is painting the town in celebration of someones birthday...or retirement...or a new baby! Gosh, the possibilities are endless huh?
I just love the design on his wings. Oh and his little gloves and shoes....they crack me up!  One thing though.....where in the world did his paint brush go?
I used some wrinkle ribbon to create my bow along with some yellow and white baker's twine and a vintage button.
These are a few more stamps I had in my stash and finally used, I guess its a good thing I moved or maybe they would still sit undiscovered and unused! lol
This is just one more simple little card with lots of  bold colors and a sweet vintage image from Peggy.  That my friends is a recipe for cuteness!

Thanks for buzzing by today!  Please come again real soon, but until then...have a lovely day! HUGS! :)

Oh! Before you go, I'd like to invite you to my new house blog. Clover House will hopefully have lots of information of "renovation rookie re-dos", some recipes, some crafts for the house and hopefully lots of giggles along the way.  So, please go check it out and become a follower or subscribe by email. :)

Happy Anniversary from Peggy Loves Vintage

Happy Saturday to all of you!

I love Saturdays...don't you? It's normally a day I like to spend just creating cards and doing a whole bunch of nothing! LOL! Today I have a sweet little vintage image from Peggy Loves Vintage for you. My sister and her hubby just celebrated their anniversary, and this is the card I made for them.
For this card I started out with a black card base. I always try and take what I need creatively from the image and go from there. I started with the music notes and chose my Cuttlebug folder that had a music score on it and used that for the first layer. Then I just matted the main image with black and placed it on next.
These little flowers are from my new EK Success punch and I am just loving it so much that I have to use them on everything...really, just stroll through my blog and you'll see! LOL!
I finished up with a bit of decorative trim at the bottom, decorated the inside to match and tah-dah...I was finished!
Now if you haven't been over to see Peggy and all her wonderful images, well you'd better get yourself right on over there and FAST! LOL! You are gonna love what you find! That's all for now....see ya next time with more card FUN! HUGS!

Peggy Loves Vintage meets The Cutting Cafe'

Happy Wednesday my friends!

I have for you today a sweet little anniversary card that I made for my best girlfriend. Her anniversary was back on the 20th. I always enjoy making something special for her, so I immediately thought of 2 of my favorite places. Peggy Loves Vintage and The Cutting Cafe'. This sweet little vintage image is from Peggy Loves Vintage. I just loved the color combo in the little girl's clothing, so I went with it from there. Now then for the inside, I used a few of Regina's printable stamps from The Cutting Cafe' and created this circle using my Printmaster program. The 20 is circled by hand. The set I used is called Fun with Days, Numbers and Months. This card turned out to be quite heavy due to all the layers I added. I always like the feel of a nice sturdy card in my hand before I mail it off...don't you? *wink*

That's it for today, thanks for visiting me and also thank you so much for all the wonderful comments you leave for me! See ya next time. HUGS!

On Your Wedding Anniversary - Peggy Loves Vintage

Happy Friday to you all! Another week of summer gone by us! Are you ready for the weekend? I am! LOL!

Here's a little Anniversary card I made for my Aunt and Uncle. Is this not the most gorgeous vintage print? The minute I spotted it over at Peggy Loves Vintage...I had to make a card using it! It's just so romantical and lovely.....dontcha think?
I know I've told you before.....but I use the textured Bazzill card stock to print my vintage images on. It just makes them that much more interesting and original, or I think so anyways! LOL!
That gorgeous ribbon was recycled from a gift I received.....there was lots of it and its way too beautiful to discard and not use on a card! I also used some Kaiser pearls and some old papers I got in a bargain bin once. They seemed to be perfect for my little card...glad I kept digging!
A card comes together quickly using these lovely vintage images of Peggy's. If you haven't checked her stores out....you'd better hurry on over and have a look!
THANKS for popping in today! Have a GREAT weekend and I'll see you back here on Monday with a new Bitten By The Bug challenge! HUGS!

Remember This?

Happy Wednesday my friends! Do you remember ever seeing some initials scratched into a tree or on some other surface they shouldn't have been? LOL! Well, I got this idea when I saw this heart on my Printmaster program the other day.
I needed an anniversary card for my cousin and I thought this would be cute for them. I used a free font called 8 year old handwriting just to give it that "scratched in" look. I used dew drops in shades of brown around the edge of the heart.
I tried to make it sweet and girly and also a bit masculine for both of them. How'd I do? I really like how it turned out. The papers are from my scrap bin, the ribbon I got at Hobby Lobby, the flowers are Prima and the button is from my stash....and that's about it! LOL!
THANKS for visiting me today and I'll see you back here on Friday! HUGS!

A Vintage Wedding

Happy Tuesday All!

The other day while checking out my long list of blogs I like to visit.....I found this yummy vintage image HERE over at Clearly Vintage. My cousin had an anniversary back last week, so I thought this image would make a great card for them!
I used the gate fold card because I think it's so much more interesting than a plain old fold in half card! LOL!
I printed the image on textured Bazzill paper just to add a bit more interest and maybe give a little more vintage feel! I also inked the edges to add to the vintage feel as well!
I really love vintage images and well, sometimes they just jump out and grab me and say, "Pick me"! Hee hee hee! The cousin I sent this to says they love to receive cards from me. They display them on their mantel for all to see. That is what makes me love what I do!
Have a lovely day and thanks for leaving all the wonderful comments for me! HUGS!

Sometimes On The Highway Of Life..... BBTB Challenge

It's that time again...time for a new challenge over at Bitten By The Bug! This week we are challenged to use the highway sign from Going Places...and I did just that!
I also used one of The Cutting Cafe's circle calendars as well. Isn't that a neat idea. I had an Anniversary card to make for my brother and sister-in-law, so I chose to combine this week's challenge with the saying I thought went well with the highway sign.
I'm not sure if that's the exact quote or not...but I thought it sounded pretty close to the original. I guess I should have looked that up huh? LOL!
I used some Basic Grey papers and some of my new leaf ribbon and a few roses that my kits from SweetArts Paperie come nicely tied up with. Lastly I added some Kaiser pearls and a bit of lace and I was finished. I love how this card turned out and I hope my brother and sister-in-law do too! Okay, please be sure to go on over and check out the other BBTB design team girls creations...you're gonna like what you see!
THANKS for joining me today...and as always...thanks for your sweet comments! HUGS!

TearDrop Butterfly Challenge - BBTB

CONTEST...yep, there is a contest going on over at the Bitten By The Bug site for a chance at a $50.00 gift certificate from Hallmark Scrapbook....(just in time for those new cartridges) or a chance to win that MISSING DESIGN STUDIO MANUAL......this is an awesome manual designed by Brandi Gore...check out her web site for more details.......Click here for more details on the contest.
So this week Regina from the BBTB site asked us designers to use the Cricut TearDrop cartridge...she chose the butterfly cut this time.....I love that butterfly!!
I used lots of Prima flowers across the top with some old buttons I just found this weekend at an Antique shop.....yummy!!!
I also did a couple of new things I haven't tried before....while "blurfing" the other day I got lots of ideas....one of them was...I took a long strip of satin ribbon and sewed a gathering stitch down the middle and gathered it up for a ruffled look....then the next thing I did was to make my own paper....I got the idea from Kim Hughes....I looked up the definition to butterfly and copied it over and over in Word....changed the font to something gorgeous, then printed it out on cardstock, cut the butterfly out and tah-dah....I made my very own one of a kind butterfly!!!
And then I randomly stitched around the edges....I really love how that looks and have never tried it....but I'm sure glad I did!!! The delicious paper is Basic Grey's Boxer line (found it at Hallmark Scrapbook) and the little stamps in the corner are by Kim Hughes (I buy them at Cornish Heritage Farms)....I found those little pearls on the butterflies antenna at my LSS...they are by Kaiser Scrapbook. THANKS for stopping by today....have a wonderful week!!!!

Celebrate Love - 2Sketches4You Challenge

Happy Saturday Everyone!!! Have you visited the 2Sketches4You blog yet? If you haven't.....you are missing out on a real treat!!! This week it was Kazan that gave us a sketch to use......and here's my interpretation of it. I used Bazzill, Basic Gray and The Paper Studio papers. The scalloped frame is from Cricuts Accent Essentials cartridge, the hearts are from Stamped and the brackets are from George. The sentiment is a few stamps by Kim Hughes from her Scripty Words(celebrate), Cute Curls(love) and Hugs and Kisses(lips) which I purchased from Cornish Heritage Farms. For a final touch I used some Prima flowers with a brad in the middle that I added Stickles to, a dab of ribbon by CTMH and a few purple rhinestones for that touch of BLING!!! I hope you enjoy my card and I also hope you visit Kazan and Laura for some sketch fun over at 2Sketches4You.
Don't forget that today is the last day to post a comment on my BLOGAVERSARY celebration post for a chance to win some yummy blog candy!! Check it out HERE! I will announce the winner tomorrow!!

Happy - BBTB Challenge

Hello there!! I am a day late posting my BBTB challenge card.....we had a very busy weekend and I had to take some time to myself last night to recuperate!!! For this card I used some Bazzill Bling and cut to the size of 5 1/2 x 6.....loving this size!!! The challenge for this week was to use the wreath from Cricuts Joys of the Season cartridge.....the "happy" is from Alphalicious and the flowers are from Walk in my Garden. I crocheted the flower in the center and added a button and a paper flower too. I doodled the black and white dots on the wreath and word for an extra little attention for details......the blue "dots" are some metallic bling I had and the ribbon is by Offray. Thanks for stopping by today!!!! Be sure and check out all the other gorgeous designs over at BBTB.....they are a treat!!! Also Regina has a CONTEST going on too......fun, fun, fun!!!
