Look Who's Turning 20!

Happy Thursday!
And..........HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my youngest son! He's turning 20 years old today and I guess even though he's not a baby, he will always be my baby!  He's smart and handsome and has the most awesome smile you've ever seen! I love you honey!

Now, for his card I used some items from an old Kim Hughes set (the owl, the branch and the sentiment)  The "20" is cut out with my Cricut Expressions and the Makin' the Grade cartridge.  That yummy orange scalloped border is from The Cutting Cafe' from a set called Fall Time Bingo Cards. I love that scalloped frame and there are several colors to choose from.
I'm still using my old book pages...are you tired of seeing them yet? lol!  I stamped Kim's sentiment right on the book page as well as the branch, it's stamped directly on a book page then cut out.  Mister Owl is colored with my Copic markers.
My son loves to sleep so I thought this sleepy eyed ole owl fit him perfectly! Heehee! Isn't he a cutie?
I finished the whole thing off with some vintage buttons, a little piece of button twine and a few rain dots.  Mister Owl, the number 20 and the whole scalloped piece is popped up off the card.

Thanks for stopping in to see me today. Please come again real soon, but until then...have a lovely day! HUGS! :)

I added a mini bat shaped cookie cutter and a velvet flower to accompany my sentiment.
Here's a little closer look at one of the sentiments that comes with the set.
Isn't Elisha Jean sweet in her purple witch's outfit?  I paper pieced her hat and dress and then colored the rest of her with my Copic markers.

It's Friday and I Found Freebies!

 HAPPY FRIDAY!
I've been on vacation this week and finally found some time to create a few cards.  This little set was made using a free PDF print out that I found while visiting The House of Smiths.  Love their blog by the way!  Eeek!  The little seaworthy set is actually to be used to make beach bag tags, but me being a card maker had to make them into cards! Ha!
{please excuse my stained craft table!}
These little sea prints were created by Miss Emily, from Jones Design Company. Cute, cute cute...huh? What a talent she has! You should visit her!
Miss Emily suggests using some alphabet stamps to personalize the tags with names, but of course I added the little sentiments you see here by using a Kim Hughes set called Ahoy Matey to personalize the cards. PERFECT set for these prints!
These cards, by the way, are my little Snippet cards that I make using left overs. I use an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of card stock, cut my 5 1/2 x 11 piece and score it in the center for a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card and the little "Snippet" that's left over is just right for a sweet little card.  The Snippet measures 3 x 5 1/2 when completed.
So, how much more fun can you have working with free stuff? It didn't take me anytime to whip these up and I used scrap papers from my scrap bin too! Yay!  I have this little note card set listed in my Etsy shop for a very special price today, so if you're interested, take a peek!

To get YOUR free PDF print out, just visit The House of Smith's and please be sure to leave them some comment love just to say thanks for the freebie! :)

Until next time, have a lovely day!  HUGS! :)

Babies and Polka Dots

 Happy Monday!
What a wonderful weekend we had!  The weather was perfect and we got lots accomplished around the house. The only thing that could have made it any better is if the weekend could last longer.

Today's card is one I made a very long time ago and just discovered I didn't show you!  I made it for my cousin's third child and he just turned one! See I told ya it was a very long time ago! LOL!
At the time I made it, we didn't know he was going to be a boy so I went with yellow to be safe.  I colored the whole image with my Copic markers and then added some Stickles to the huge polka dots and stitched the buttons for an extra little something.
The little swirly corners are from an EK Success punch I have that I really must take out use more often!  Oh!  The umbrella is a digi image that I've had forever and don't remember where it came from.  When I first started collecting my digi images I wasn't smart enough to file them by name of company. Sorry!

That's all for now. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment! Your comments always make me SMILE! Until next time, have a lovely day! HUGS! :)

Enjoy the Journey from The Cutting Cafe'

Happy Monday!
I hope you had an awesome weekend. I spent mine recovering from an awful muscle spasm in my lower back! YOUCH! It's all better now thanks to a very nice ER doc and a prescription for a muscle relaxer.

Anywho....enough about that, back to my card today. I used one of Regina's cute little bicycles from a set called Let's Go For A Ride. It's full of sweet little bicycles and sentiments. You can find this set and oodles more at The Cutting Cafe'.
I added lots of Kaiser pearls and Stickles to make my card a bit more special! I love it!
I also added some sweet little crocheted flowers that seemed to match perfectly with my color scheme of red and yellow. The sentiment "Enjoy the Journey" is also included in the set along with many more.
After I printed the bicycle and the sentiment on the DP, I cut them out using my Nesties. Oh and by the way...I can not get enough polka dot paper lately...I love polka dots, but I bet you couldn't tell could ya? LOL!
Thanks for popping in to see me today. Please come back real soon and until then, have a lovely day! HUGS! :)

Paper Smooches Freebie

Happy Wednesday!
WOW! We've made it to the half way mark of the week, looks like we're on the downhill side now! YAY! Who's ready for the weekend?
Today's card features a free digi image from Paper Smooches. The sweet little bird is adorable with the flower that forms its eye and wing...I love that!
I colored it with my Copic markers using colors from my papers. The flower on it's eye looks a lot like the flower on the papers too!
I used one of the sentiment stamps from Kim's set called Birthday Buddies. The stamps are flexible enough to bend and place on your acrylic block, so I rounded this one to go on my circle that I punched out using my Nesties. PERFECT!
This is a pedestal card, so for the bottom layer I popped it up a bit with foam tape so the top would have a nice stop to rest on.
I finished it off with a sweet silk flower that I colored with my Copics and then tied it all up with some of my new wrinkle ribbon that is...somewhat tie dyed...so pretty! That's my card for today. Thanks for dropping by and please come again soon. Until then, have a lovely day! HUGS! :)

Digi Stamp Freebie Challenge

Happy Wednesday My Bloggy Friends!

So I was blurfin the other day and I went to visit my friend Curt in Carmel and he is a member of the DT for "There's Magic In The Air" and every Monday they offer a freebie digi stamp. Well, this week's stamp really caught my eye and I had to have it, so when I went over to the site to grab it and saw the prize that was being given away.....well, I had to play along in hopes I might when that beautiful prize! So here's my card! Whatcha think?
Instead of coloring it like I normally would, I decided to do some paper piecing. I haven't done that in a very long time and I really love it and don't know why I don't try it more often. I printed the image three times, first on my card stock, second on the pink gingham and third on the green paper. I cut out only the flower top and the leaves and placed them on the base image.
I added a few rhinestones here and there and then stamped "i love you" (by Kim Hughes), added a bow and tah-dah.....a sweet little snippet card. BTW, a snippet card is the left overs I had of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper after I cut out a 5 x 5 1/2 card. My snippet card measures 3 x 5 1/2...tall and skinny.
I hope you've enjoyed my card today, please join me tomorrow for a fun little card and some birthday wishes! *wink* HUGS!
