Celebrate Good Times with a Dustin Pike Image

Happy Friday!
And.......Happy 23rd Birthday to my oldest Son!  Yes, 23 years ago I was in labor for 12 hours giving birth to my first son.  It was worth every minute of it too.  He's a sweet young man that loves his family and friends, has a kind and gentle heart and will keep you in stitches with all his jokes and impressions.  Yes, he's very funny and loves to make his Mama laugh.  I love you honey!

Now, on to his card that I had a blast putting together.  I used a Dustin Pike image and some freebies from Scrapnfonts.
I paper pieced Mr. Turtle's balloon and his shell with some matching papers.  Normally I make him an orange card cuz that's his favorite color. Even my youngest said, "why didn't you make it orange?"  Well, I don't know about you, but I've never seen an orange turtle and I wanted it to all match.....so green it is!  I think he'll still love it!
Isn't he cute? I always have so much fun coloring Dustin's images. It truly takes me back to my coloring book days...only then my Mama would have NEVER allowed me to have markers like these! Heehee!
Here are the colors I used to color Mr. Turtle.  I think I did pretty good with the shading on this image, but I'm not sure.  Let me know what you think.
I finished the card off by roughly cutting out the words and using a bit of chalk ink to highlight, then I randomly placed them along the sides of the card.  I added a few buttons and some twine and called it a birthday card.

I will be hand delivering this card later on today to the birthday boy!  Thanks for stopping by today, please come again.  Until then, have a lovely weekend!  HUGS!

Birthday Girl Butterfly Bear

Happy Friday!
So finally we are having AWESOME weather here in Texas! I am NOT a cold weather girl. I'm a sun lover and I sure do love it when it shines brightly!

On to my card for today! A butterfly bear? Well I know that's not something you see every day, but today you are seeing it! LOL! This is one of Dustin Pike's digi images. He always has the cutest ideas.
I paper pieced her. I love paper piecing stamped images and I have no idea why I don't do it more often. I think I'll put that on my list of things to do more often!
I also used one of Regina's digi stamps from The Cutting Cafe'. You can never go wrong with using Regina's stamps!
I also made a layered flower centered with a circle and a button and then it's all tied up with the same embroidery floss I used to hand stitch around the outer edge.
I think it turned out pretty darned adorable myself! I enjoyed making this card so much that I believe I'll go see what I can go paper piece next!
Thanks for visiting me today and please do come again sometime soon! Until then, have a lovely day! HUGS!

Happy 19th Birthday!

HAPPY FRIDAY FRIENDS!
I'm off from work today to go for my check up and run all the errands I can't normally do during the week cuz I work too much! LOL! This is my youngest son's 19th birthday card. It's being posted late just like the one from Wednesday for my oldest son.....just not as late! His birthday was the 8th of this month!

It's a really tall gate fold card. I made it tall so I could fit all the bits and pieces on the front that I wanted. Both of my sons save their cards each year, so I always try and incorporate their age like you see here, but if I can't each card is dated on the back so they know which year it was for.
I used another Dustin Pike monkey and added the happy birthday sentiment using my Printmaster program. I think I did much better on the coloring and shading of this one! YAY me! LOL! His party hat as well as the "19" on the inside is from the Cricut cartridge Celebrations.
I added just a bit of adhesive to the back of the right hand side of the circle so the card would stay shut, but I kind of like it propped open myself! I think it turned out pretty cute and of course Jake liked it, so that's all that counts! *wink* Thank you for dropping in to see me today! I'll be back soon with another fun card for you! Have a lovely day! HUGS!

Happy 22nd Birthday!

Happy Wednesday Friends!
I'm ever so slightly late posting this card, but hey...better late than never huh? LOL! It's my oldest son's birthday card, his birthday was back on August 5th. Hee hee!

This is a fun Dustin Pike image that I colored with my Copic markers and then added a Kim Hughes stamped sentiment to. I love using both of those very talented people's art work!
Since my oldest is a cool dude (I think so anyways) I decided to give the dragon that "cool dude look" by adding a sunshades brad to him. Cute huh?
I cut out the "22" with my Cricut, and then popped them up off the card with foam tape! Oh yeah and I hand stitched all the way around the card too, just to make it extra special for my first born!
All in all its a plain and simple card, but when working with a guy card, you just gotta keep it plain and simple! Thank you for dropping by to see me. Until next time....have a lovely day! HUGS! :)

I Think Birthday Cards Are My Favorite!

Hello there! I know it's been forever since I posted on my ole bloggity blog, but here I am now with a birthday card for you!
I used a Dustin Pike Digital stamp and colored it with my Copic markers. I'm still practicing on my shading...some day, I'll get it right! LOL!
The digital stamp I used is from The Cutting Cafe'. Regina never fails me when I need the perfect sentiment for my cards!
I did some machine stitching around the edges and a bit on the surf board, then I popped it all together and I was done! I really love how it turned out...completely boyish, just as I wanted it!
I'll try and post another card or two over the weekend. Having the week off gave me plenty of time to make up a few fun cards! I so miss doing that on a regular basis!
HUGS & Smoochies till next time!

October 31st....Just Around The Corner Now!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I have one more of Dustin Pike's awesome Halloween images for ya today! I just love his stuff...have I said that before? LOL! Well, I do! They are just so easy to color!
Of course they go perfectly with The Cutting Cafe's digi stamps. This one is from one of the Halloween sets. I've used it lots this year!
I colored my happy jack-o-lantern with my Copic markers, then cut him out, placed some pop dots on the back of him and placed him on a stack of Nestie circles. This is one of the tent topper cards I love to make.
This little card is for sale in my Etsy shop right now and it matches one of the triangle treat boxes I have for sale too! The set would make a wonderful gift for that special someone this October 31st. Speaking of my Etsy shop, I have a sale going on right now on all my Halloween goodies. Check me out!
THANK YOU for strolling in to see me today, I always love the sweet comments you leave for me! Join me again next time for more card FUN! HUGS!

BOO Did I Scare You? Whoooo ME?

Hello and Happy Wednesday to All of You!

This little owl from Dustin Pike is way too adorable not to color up and make a card out of! I used my Copic markers to color her and then I cut her out and placed her atop the purple moon. I also made a boy version of this card which you can see HERE.
I created this sentiment using a few of Regina's digi stamps from The Cutting Cafe'. The set I used is HERE.
I punched two tiny flowers using my EK Success punch and then placed them in her "hair" so that she looked more girly! Oh and I added some bling too...a girl's gotta have bling!
I added a few pieces of purple ribbon and some little green buttons for a fun accent and also to fill in the blank spot I had going on up there in that corner!
This was a fun and easy card to put together and its available in my Etsy shop if you're interested. THANKS for flying by to see me today, please join me again tomorrow for more card FUN! HUGS!

Happy Birthday Sherri from Dustin's Cupcake Munching Monkey!

Happy Thursday Everyone!
Today is my sweetest friend Sherri's birthday!
Happy Birthday Sherri, I love ya girlie!

I wanted to make her a fun card so I got to searching through my Dustin Pike digi stamps and found this cute little monkey all laid out and full from munching on that giant cupcake! LOL! Isn't he a riot! I printed him out on white card stock and colored him up using my Copic markers. Then I cut him out close to the black lines and placed him atop the nifty little ruffled thingy I learned to make over the weekend. I learned how HERE. I love this saying and I didn't have a stamp that said it, so I created my own using my Printmaster program. I printed it out on a cream colored card stock in brown ink so it would match the rest of the card. The sweet little flowers were made using my new little tiny E K Success punch. I added some brown crystals for the BLING factor! A girl's gotta have bling on her birthday! Here a shot of my ruffled thingy that shows you how it works. Since I didn't have the die that was shown in the video, I improvised and used my large scalloped Nestie, then used a plain circle Nestie that measures about 1 1/2 inches and cut out the center. I scored in between each scallop, then folded it back and forth as the video shows. I love how it looks when its complete, so I've been making them up a storm and putting them on everything! So, that's it for Ms. Sherri's birthday card. I hope you like it and you give that ruffled thingy a try...they sure are FUN to make! THANKS for stopping by. See ya tomorrow for more card FUN!

Bear-y Spooky BOO!

NOT! This little guy is about as far from spooky as you can get! This is another one of Dustin Pike's Freebies. He gives away the most awesome free stuff huh? They are oh so easy to color because his style is real crisp and clear.....it's like coloring in a coloring book!
Here he is all dressed up in his punkin costume ready to go out and gather all the honey and berries he can find! Hmmmm, he needs a trick-or-treat pail to put all that in doesn't he? Oh Dustin.................
Actually, he just release a whole bunch of Halloween characters in costume and they are all holding their pails ready for October 31st to arrive! I probably "need" those too! LOL!
Have you started making your Halloween goodies yet.....it's right around the corner you know. Oh and then we'll be making CHRISTMAS CARDS! Eeeeeek, don't remind me! LOL!
This sweet little card will be for sale in my Etsy shop along side many more Halloween items....but hurry they are flying of the shelf like.....I don't know what!
THANK YOU for visiting me today and most of all thanks for all the sweet words you leave for me! See you next time for more card FUN! HUGS!

Thanks A Bunch, Dustin Pike's Dragon and a Yummy Snack!

Happy Wednesday!

I hope today finds you well and happy. I have some fun stuff to share with you today. My neighbor boy helped me finish a chore the other day and I wanted to make a little something for him to say thank you. He loves skate boards, so I went in search of the perfect skate board art. I visited Dustin Pike's digi stamp store and there he was.....Skatin' Dragon! Ain't he ca-ute!
As you might know, I love to pair the digi stamps from The Cutting Cafe' with Dustin's images, so I went through and found the thank yous I needed and printed them up. These are from the Thank You Background and Big Stuff Sentiments. I joined them together and changed the color using my Printmaster program.
After I colored the dragon with my Copic markers, I cut him out, scored his wrist and then attached him only by his "paw" to the thanks circle I created. He didn't really want to stand up too well, so I glued a small thick button right behind his wrist and tah-dah, he stood up just fine!
If I do say so myself, this is the cutest little gift I've made in a long time! LOL! I almost don't want to give it away!
Okay, now for the goodies inside. These are "Fire Crackers". A spicy little snack recipe that I received in our electric bill one time. Here's how to make them:
Fire Crackers
11oz. package Oyster Crackers
1/2 Cup Canola Oil
1 package Hidden Vally Ranch Dip Mix
2 tablespoons Crushed Red Pepper
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
2 teaspoons Garlic Salt
Using a gallon zip top bag, place all dry ingredients in and then add oil. Mix well, then add crackers. Tumble well to coat all crackers. Tumble occasionally thereafter. These are better the longer they sit.
I filled a small zip top bag with the little crackers and then popped them into the recycled plastic container that I decorated earlier. And there ya go...one yummy, cute gift!
That's about it for today, thanks for skatin' by to see me today, please join me tomorrow for more card FUN! HUGS!

Happy Birthday Jake!

Happy Tuesday to all my bloggy friends!

Today is my baby's 18th birthday! He's away at college so this is the very first birthday I have not got spend with him. Gosh, they sure do grow up fast and move on don't they? Anyways, he loves, loves, loves computers (that's what he's going to college for) so sometime back I was over at Dustin Pike's blog visiting and he gave away this cute monkey image. I thought it was so adorable and it reminded me of Jake, so I printed it out and colored it up for him!
Jake also loves green, so trying to incorporate some green while I colored......I "painted" the table and chair green using my Copic markers. I really don't know what I ever did before I got my Copic markers.....they are the best ever! I love Dustin's sense of humor using the banana on the computer. I just know Jake will catch that joke since he just got his first Apple IMac for graduation.
Oh, and it looks as if the monkey is saying something, so I scrolled through my Cutting Cafe' digi stamps and found the empty blurb Regina created (Assorted Bubble Phrases) and then added my sentiment to it. Now my card was finished! I think I've said it before, but I really like to join Dustin's images and Regina's stamps together to form the perfect card.
THANKS for coming by today to see what I've created. Please join me tomorrow for more card FUN! HUGS!

Make a Wish!

YAY! It's FRIDAY! The weekend is finally in site!
Today I have another Dustin Pike FREEBIE for ya! This little truck is so cute and perfect for a boy. I made this card for my cousin's little boy's birthday.
Have I told you how much I love Dustin's images? They are so easy to resize, print out and color. I used my Copic markers to color this one too! Since his images are cartoonish...it's like I'm a kid again and coloring in a coloring book.....which I always loved to do!

I made the sentiment box using one of Regina's printable stamps from over at The Cutting Cafe'. This time I changed the color and added a cool border to the stamp! Loves it!
This is a long card that measures 4 x 9 and fits into a standard #10 envelope just fine! The papers are Cosmo Cricket and the buttons are from my stash. THANKS for dropping in to see me today, I hope your weekend is wonderful! I'll see you back here on Monday for another new challenge from Bitten by the Bug! HUGS!
