Another Punny Birthday Card

This sweet little card is exactly why my blog is named Scrappin' with DeeDee.  I love to use paper scraps to create my cards, its my favorite!
I just sit in the floor, pull out my scrap bin (its huge) and I start laying papers out that go well together.  Most times I'll gather enough scraps for two or three cards and then I start creating my cards.  Sometimes I change my mind.....a lot! LOL!
I used a Paper Smooches stamp from Birthday Buddies to make this card.  I colored the images with my Copics and then added some glitter with my Wink of Stella brush. Love that brush!
This punny little card is available in my Etsy store along with lots more if you're looking for birthday cards for family or friends.

Thanks for looking!  Please come again really soon, but until then...have a lovely day!  HUGS! :)

Sweet, Bright and Happy Birthday Cards

I was looking at the inventory in my Etsy shop the other day and noticed that I needed to stock up on my birthday card selection.  I went and grabbed several of my birthday stamp sets from my collection and just so happens, I started out with Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies stamp set.  Keep reading to find out why that is so AWESOME!
I love these punny little stamps.  They are all so adorable!
This cute little bird is my favorite out of all of them though!  I always use my Copic markers to color the stamps and of course that's always lots of fun too!  I used my Nesties to cut out the ovals.  There is a layer of foam tape between the white and pink oval for dimension.
This card is a standard sized card measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  I used a distressing method on the edges of this card that I havent used in ages.  I actually used a fingernail file to distress it all the way around. See how it gives a white border on the very outer edge?
Next up is this cute little pup.  I love how he had a patch around his eye.  He says, "Happy Bark Day!"  This card is also a standard sized card measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.
Again I colored him with my Copics and then used my Nesties to cut out the ovals.
This card is way simpler than the birdie card, but I think sometimes simple is better.  They look so crisp and clean when they are simplified.

Paper Smooches, Kim Hughes to be more specific, that's who designs these cute stamps I used to make these two cute cards.

Turns out after I had posted the puppy card to my IG feed I noticed that Paper Smooches was having a contest where you can win $50 credit to the PS store or be a featured designer! How cool is that?  It never hurts to try, so here I am, throwing my hat in the ring.  Wish me luck!

Thanks for looking!  Please come again really soon, but until then...have a lovely day!  HUGS! :)

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Graduation Card

Happy Sunday!

It's been a very long time since I posted anything to my blog due to work being well.....WORK, lots of work! LOL!  Today I was cruising the ole' FB I saw Kim Hughes' Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge  and since I needed a graduation card, I thought I'd play along!  There is a sketch to use, so I did just that!
I used one of Kim's older stamp sets from back in her Cornish Heritage Farm Days (the owl and grad hat) and then one of her Paper Smooches stamps (the celebrate).
I thought a book page owl would look even smarter and more educated {LOL} so I stamped him on book page paper and cut him out and popped him up off the original stamped image. You can see it peeking out here in this picture.
This owl has got to be one of my all time favorite Kim Hughes creations ever! I love his lazy eyed look!
I had fun making this card and playing along with Kim's challenge.  It makes me want to keep on creating, but the yard work is calling my name and I must go answer it! Ha!

Thanks for stopping by today. Please come again really soon, but until then...have a lovely day!  HUGS! :)

Bee Happy with Paper Smooches

 Happy Monday!
So as I was strolling through my blog roll the other day, I saw that Ms. Kim over at the Paper Smooches Blog was having a Sparks Challenge and a chance to win some of her uber cute stamps! Eeek! I love her stuff!  I decided to join in on the fun!
This cute little bee is one of her FREE digi downloads that she offers! ADORABLE!  I printed her twice and fussy cut one to pop up on the first layer to add some dimension to my centerpiece.

Along with free digis, Kim also offers some color combos and some sketches to help you create your projects with more ease.  I didn't use any of the color combos, but I did use one of her sketches.  The one I chose is the very lower left corner.  The 3 hearts represent 3 stamps or embellishments, so I used 3 different stamps.  The other two swirlies are from one of Kim's older stamp sets that I got at Cornish Heritage Farms a long time ago.
I think this little bee would put a smile on anyone's face the minute they see her! So stinkin' ca-ute!  I have her up for sale in my Etsy shop!
Keep your fingers crossed for me that I win one of the prizes.  Any of the prizes would be awesome cuz I love me some Kim Hughes stamps!  The deadline is Wednesday August 3rd, so hurry on over to sign up if you're gonna play along too!

Until next time, have a lovely day! HUGS & Smoochies! :)

Just Make It Simple....Oh and Green!

Happy Friday!
Well we made it to yet another wonderful weekend! Isn't it funny how we start out on Monday wishing for the weekend to arrive? Well, maybe that's just me. But anyways, how about a sweet and simple card for ya today?
My youngest son's friend had a birthday the other day and he asked me to make a card for him.  "Just make it simple.....Oh and he likes green" he said!  Easy enough. Green it is and simple it is! Mission accomplished!
It may be hard for you to tell, but I used 3 patterned papers and 2 solids. Of course the solids are obvious, but  the patterned papers are layered one on top of the other.  This sentiment is a Paper Smooches stamp from the set called Birthday Buddies.
I also used a bit of button twine to create the look of the entire card being wrapped and then buttoned on either side of the sentiment! It's really just tucked in on both sides.  I used THESE cards for my inspiration! Debbie is so talented!
I love using the starburst Nestie for guy cards, it seems so masculine to me.  I don't know about you, but I am really loving all the different design patterns going every which way on this card.  Such visual interest...which I love!

That's all I got today! I hope you've enjoyed my card and will come back real soon!  Don't forget to visit my house blog for a yummy recipe! Until next time, have a lovely day!  HUGS! :)

Polka Dot Thanks

Happy Friday!
I don't know about you, but this card makes me SMILE!  A while ago I Googled {paper flowers} in the images section and came across some flowers made with cupcake liners.  On one of my visits to Michael's I spotted these sweet little polka dotted liners and grabbed them up. I finally made a card with the idea that was stuck to the back of my brain.
The rainbow scallop and bee are from a paper set punch out sheet {sorry I don't remember the set name} and the 'thanks' sentiment is a freebie from over at Paper Smooches. I layered each level with foam tape to give it a lift.
I free handed the stem and leaves for the flower, then added a bit of Stickles to the bee's wings and trimmed the corners of the card base and I was done!

Very plain and simple, but I think it makes quite the statement! So happy and Spring-y!

That's it for this little bit of happiness.  Thanks for visiting me today and please do come again! Until then, have a lovely day!  HUGS! :)

Paper Smooches Worm Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday!
So I live in Texas and we have been having the most awesome weather lately...we even got lots of rain last Sunday night. Boy oh boy did we need it, but anyways, the sun has been shining brightly ever since and I LOVE IT! I'm having so much fun playing outside in the yard! Which leads to me to my card today. Well, not really but it kinda looks like something that would be in my yard....the worm, not the cardboard! Gosh!
Isn't he cute? He's one of Kim Hughes Paper Smooches creations from a set called Birthday Buddies. The sweet little sentiment is in the set too. I just love Kim's handwriting...don't you?
I gave him a red rhinestone heart and some blue rhinestone eyes as well. He was colored with my Copic markers.
I made some "grass" using some yummy green and white polka dot papers and cutting really tiny close together cuts for a grassy look.
I used my Nesties to cut out the circles for the flower and the sun, then just free handed the rays for the sun.  I also free handed the cloud using some cloud printed paper.

I really love how this card turned out and I think that little worm is the cutest!  I've also discovered while searching for other Paper Smooches creations that not too many people have actually made a card using this little guy! I don't know why cuz he's very adorable.....as far as worms go! LOL!

Thanks for dropping in to see me today! I really love the comments you sweet people leave for me! Please visit again really soon, but until then.....have a lovely day!  HUGS! :)

Something Is A Little Fishy Around Here!

Happy Monday!
I bet you thought I fell off the face of the earth huh? Well, for the past two weeks {actually more than that} I've been in the process of buying a house and moving! In all the hustle and bustle I failed to set up my blog post for each day.  So here my poor blog sat for two weeks with no love from me {or you}! What a goofus I am!  I still do not have Internet at the new house nor do I have my computer set up, so if i go missing again....please bare with me and be patient! LOL!

On to today's card. Fishies! These sweet little fishies are from Paper Smooches and I think they are adorable!
I picked out my papers first then got to coloring my fish.  I added the star on their party hats and then gave them some Kaiser pearl bubbles.  How's that for a stylin' fish?
I love their big eyes and looked in my stash for some of the little googly eyes, but all I found were way too big for these sweet little fish, so I just left them as is.
I added some "bubbles" with vintage buttons and baker's twine and then a larger bubble for the sentiment. Well, that's about it for this little card. I hope you've enjoyed it.  Thanks for "swimming" by to see me today! Until next time, have a lovely day! HUGS! :)

Paper Smooches & Polka Dots

Happy Friday!
Doesn't my title sound like a sweet little boutique or maybe a crafty magazine? LOL! Well, it actually describes my card for today. I used Kim Hughes stamps from her store Paper Smooches along with some polka dotted paper to create this little happy berthday card!
I had this yummy crocheted flower in my stash and thought it just needed to be used. I centered it with a yellow velvet brad. I also added some crocheted trim too.
I know I've said it before, but Kim's designs are just so happy and sweet, so really, who could keep from smiling when they receive this card? Not me! I paper pieced his nose, teeth and hat. He really may need to see a doctor about all the spots he's got going on there! Heehee!
I hope you've enjoyed my card today and maybe got a bit of inspiration too!  If you haven't tried Kim's stamps yet, you're missing out on lots of FUN!
Thanks for taking the time to stop in and see what I've created this time! Please do come again, but until then......have a lovely day!  HUGS! :)

Just a very simple card for you today, I let the paper do all the work this time!
I added a big silk bow of ribbon to make it a bit more girly than it already was.
Then I added one of Paper Smooches stamps from the set called Pretty Phrases. I love Kim's handwriting! :)
Lastly I added the row of pink vintage buttons and I call this "one sweet little card" ready to brighten someone's day!

Lucky to Have You and A WINNER!

Happy Monday!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did! The weather was perfect and I really enjoyed my family!

I have for you today a little card I made using Kim Hughes' free digi images for the month of March from over at Paper Smooches.  I really enjoyed making this card. It's really a simple card, but I added some hand stitching and some vintage buttons tied with twine for a little extra splash!
I used some tiny button twine from Papertrey Ink to give the sweet little buttons some personality.
Then I added a bow of twine (multiple loops) in the middle of the shamrock and the sentiment.
The ovals were cut out using my Nesties.  The papers were from my scrap bin...love that!

If you want to purchase this card, it is available in my Etsy shop right here. FREE shipping, always!

Be sure to visit Paper Smooches blog for your freebies.  I wouldn't miss them for nuthin'!

Paper Smooches Freebie

Happy Wednesday!
WOW! We've made it to the half way mark of the week, looks like we're on the downhill side now! YAY! Who's ready for the weekend?
Today's card features a free digi image from Paper Smooches. The sweet little bird is adorable with the flower that forms its eye and wing...I love that!
I colored it with my Copic markers using colors from my papers. The flower on it's eye looks a lot like the flower on the papers too!
I used one of the sentiment stamps from Kim's set called Birthday Buddies. The stamps are flexible enough to bend and place on your acrylic block, so I rounded this one to go on my circle that I punched out using my Nesties. PERFECT!
This is a pedestal card, so for the bottom layer I popped it up a bit with foam tape so the top would have a nice stop to rest on.
I finished it off with a sweet silk flower that I colored with my Copics and then tied it all up with some of my new wrinkle ribbon that is...somewhat tie dyed...so pretty! That's my card for today. Thanks for dropping by and please come again soon. Until then, have a lovely day! HUGS! :)
