Gingham Christmas Tree - BBTB Challenge

Happy Monday!! I'm so glad that Regina from Bitten by the Bug asked us to use this cut from the Cricut Joys of the Season cartridge, because I really need to start on my Christmas cards. This cut can be found on page 78 of the manual. One of the really neat features of this cartridge is that you can put any cut into a card like this one.
I think you can see here how it's a window card...the image is cut out of the center of the card. I cut another tree piece and popped it up with pop dots and added some Stickles to the stand to add a little bling!!! Those beautiful pearls are by Kaiser....love those things...they already have ahesive on them.
See, here's a close up of them and all the detail. See that lovely Merry Christmas....that is a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms called Christmas Expressions...you will see me using this set a lot because it's AWESOME!!! Oh this paper is by Wild Asparagus, it's a very heavy card stock, double-sided type paper. It's the first time I've ever had any of it and I love it!!!
This was really a fast card to make...the cut itself almost does all the work for you...all I had to do was decorate the tree...LOL!!! Oh the tree topper is an antique button and a little piece of ribbon I couldn't throw away threaded through it....good thing I didn't throw it away...it was perfect for this project!!! Apple Crunch Muffins

1-1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 c. milk
1 c. Granny Smith apples, diced

Topping
1/4 c. brown sugar packed
1/4 c. walnuts, chopped
1/2 t. cinnamon
Mix these ingredients together to make topping.

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in mixing bowl. Cut in shortening until the crumbs form. Combine milk and egg. Add to dry ingredients along with apples. Stir just to moisten. Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling two-thirds full. Sprinkle with brown sugar topping. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Makes 12.
