Happy Friday!
I've always loved red, white and blue! There is just something about the color combo that makes me happy. When I found Pinterest, one of the first boards I started was a red, white and blue board. Then one day I was visiting Tip Junkie and I saw THIS! Those little flag blocks caught my eye! I had to make me a block flag, so I did!You can see the version I used HERE and one more very cute version HERE. I actually have a total of (6) blocks for my version. (4) 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and (2) 7" as seen in Kierste's version. I just used left over pieces of 2x4 we had from when we built the work bench for the shop.
First I sanded all the pieces using my mouse sander. Then I painted the front side of each block the color I wanted and then let that dry real well (over night). Then I added some dark stain to the painted parts and then wiped off the excess. Then I sanded around the painted/stained parts for the final touches. Lastly, I added the wire edged ribbon all tied up in a big ole bow! Oh yeah, I cut out the star using my Cricut machine and the George cartridge.
I've decided to decorate my fireplace and mantel for the 4th of July, so stay tuned for that post too! I hope it turns out the way I have it pictured in my head!
Thanks for stopping in to see me today. Please do come again real soon. Oh remember, if you want an invite to Pinterest, just leave me a comment below and I'll send ya one! Until next time, have a lovely day! HUGS! :)
