Vintage Christmas Frame

Oh I am so excited to show you this fun little frame! I got the idea while blurfing the other day HERE. Hers is for Halloween and much larger, but I wanted to start out on a smaller scale and do something Christmas-y!
I bought this little frame way back when at Hobby Lobby for $1 and when I saw this idea I went right home after work and dug it out of my stash! Luck would have it, while looking for something else over the weekend...I found another larger frame! LOL! More fun coming! Ok, here's how I made mine.
First, I lightly sanded the frame. I didn't paint it because I didn't want to wait for it to dry! LOL! Then, I made the flowers. {I'm still using the Thesaurus pages that I received as packing in a shipment from an Etsy purchase.} I used my 1 3/8" circle punch to punch all the circles, but I think I could also use my Nesties as well....oh and I have scalloped Nesties.....yes more ideas are whirling around in my head now! Hee hee! Ok, back to the frame. I was using a rather large ink pen as my "flower-former". I would hold the circle in the palm of my hand, place the pen tip in the center and then push the circle edges up and form the little scrunched up flower. After I had several of these paper flowers made, I used my Zip Dry Glue to stick them to the frame only on the front side.

Lastly, I added some dotted glitter paper to the card board {"fake picture" that is in all frames} and then centered a Kay and Co. chipboard piece with double sided tape, placed it back into the frame and added the pretty red bow and a sprig of gold berries I saved off of a Christmas package last year.

I've been using these paper flowers a lot lately, but this has to be my most favorite project so far! Thanks Brooke @ The Crafting Chicks for the great idea!
