Bless Your Heart - BBTB Dragonfly Challenge

Happy Monday Bloggers!

Monday means another new challenge from Bitten By The Bug.....YAY! This week we are asked to use the dragonfly from the Cricut Camp Out cartridge with one special detail....we had to use polka dot paper for the wings. I got my Camp Out cartridge at Hallmark Scrapbook.
Isn't he cute? I used the shadow, then the actual cut and then I cut the shift to the cut (wings) twice so I could make it look like he was in flight. I only glued down the center of the top wings so they would give the effect of movement.
This sweet little tag was made using a digi stamp from The Cutting Cafe. It's from a set called Bless You. I added a bit of yummy satin ribbon and a dragonfly charm that I got for my birthday from my sweet friend Sherri.
One thing I did on this card that I really love the look of.....I hand stitched around the border. First I stitched around the card with my sewing machine, but without thread in it. This gave me the holes to stitch easily around the card. I used 2 strands of olive green embroidery floss for the stitching.
Lastly I decorated the inside to match the outside and I was done! I guess you could say that I really allowed the paper to make this card so pretty. It's some yummy Basic Grey papers...love 'em!
That's it for today, I have the day off from work to go for my checkup, run errands and get my nails done...then I'm gonna do a whole bunch of nothing! LOL! Please be sure to pop over to BBTB and check out all the lovely creations the other designers came up with...wonderful I tell ya! See ya next time for more card FUN! HUGS!
